Can you recommend a comfortable estate car which won't suffer any DPF problems?
We have two large dogs and moved from a 2007 1.9 auto diesel Golf estate to a 2010 Passat, but find the seats uncomfortable and are unhappy with the DPF. I note your diesel recommendations and wonder which model might be suitable. Annual mileage is about 10,000, so would a petrol CVT be better? Either auto estate or SUV would do.

I'm looking for a cheap to run car which will be reliable, but over the magic 100,000 mark, as I do plenty of miles and don't want to crucify value. Ideally for about £2500. I do enough miles (12,000 plus)...

Hugely practical and robust, refined and quiet on the move, excellent diesel engines, especially the 2.0 D-4D, very reliable.
