Do you have any opinions on the new Renault Scenic 1.5 and 1.6 diesels?
We are now considering a diesel, using a Scenic for longer journeys and our Yaris for shorter ones. Have you driven the Scenic 1.5 or 1.6 diesels? Also I have noticed that the real MPG for these is extremely low compared to the one published, so now our options are 1.2TCe petrol or the diesels. We have test driven the 1.2TCe and were very impressed. It has more power than our 2003 1.6 Scenic.

I have driven all Scenic diesels, and Renault’s 1.5 DCI in a lot of different cars. The 1.5 DCI has become very refined, but is still based on old tech, whereas the 1.6 DCI has the latest exhaust manifold in head technology and costs a lot more to make. The 1.2TCe 115 petrol is fine. A bit low on torque, but extremely smooth and refined.
