What is causing clutch vibration in my MkVI Golf?

My experience since purchasing a new Mark VI Golf on my retirement last October has not been good. I wrote to Volkswagen about a vibrating clutch pedal issue that my local dealer had told me was normal and nothing to worry about. It related to the DMF and could be experienced on the Mark VII, too. I had a telephone reply from Volkswagen's Customer Relations manager last Wednesday who said the matter had been followed up with the dealer who advised that the car had been road tested by a technician and a master technician; furthermore, Volkswagen's technical team agreed with their diagnosis that the vibration on the clutch pedal is normal.

I could get a second opinion at another VW agent but this would seem to me to be a waste of time since they have access to the car's computer record and would doubtless follow the party line. Any clutch vibration doesn't seem right to me.

A dual mass flywheel is supposed to reduce vibration, not increase it, but taxi drivers generally reckon to replace DMFs in VAG cars every 40,000 - 50,000 miles as a matter of routine.
