Which SUV do you recommend to replace my Honda CR-V?
At present I drive a 2008 Honda CR-V 2.2i CTDi EX. I am considering changing for the equivalent new model. I should really appreciate your opinion of the latest version. I live in the country and cart four large dogs around to shows. I love my Honda, but should I consider any other make?

As long as you do a fairly big mileage and don't repeatedly drive short distances from cold, a new Honda CR-V 2.2iDTEC should be fine. You could also consider a Mazda CX-5 2.2 Skyactiv diesel. There is now a new Toyota RAV4 2.2 diesel and a new Ford Kuga 2.0 diesel, not forgetting the Volkswagen Tiguan. The Kuga handles best, but the ride is quite stiff.
Better not to buy any of these on bigger than 17-inch wheels, because the bigger the wheels the less tyre between rim and road and the harder the ride. They handle fine on 17s.
