Bought an Aston Martin Vantage with leaking shock absorbers - should the dealer repair these?

I have just bought a 2009 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster from a dealer who trades from his house. I wasn't able to have the car professionally inspected, which was probably a mistake, but have now had a garage look at it and the front shock absorbers are leaking badly and need replacing. Is this something that the dealer should put right or would it just come under general wear and tear? There were other issues with the car but I was aware of them and the price was reduced to reflect the general lack of preparation. I paid £41,500 for a 2009 MY with 66,000 miles. It wasn't detailed, had low rear tyres and the dealer admitted he hadn't done much to prepare it other than clean it so reflected that in the price. He offered to do all the work to get it to 'showroom' standard but would charge an extra £3000.

Presuming manual, a 2009 with 22,000 miles trades at £48,750 and retails at £56,250. But the mileage knocks this back by a lot of money and Glass's doesn't estimate how much in this case. I'd say by about £9000. So there may be room for a bit of negotiation over the dampers.
