As a 65-year-old motorist, cyclist and pedestrian, I and many others live in fear of being run over by a new generation of Olympic-crazed pedallists who have no respect for any road user including themselves. Only yesterday I observed one of these maniacs race through the town centre of Scunthorpe, through a roundabout and two sets of traffic lights set at red, creating a hazard to all and sundry. It would benefit the Treasury if a stiff registration tax was imposed with identity plates as in other countries and also a compulsory cycle test.
