I was driving home yesterday when I heard a sharp noise in my right ear. It sounded louder than a central locking motor in action but not much. On checking for the cause, I found my seatbelt loose. The spring loaded reel seems to have come adrift. Because of the loose seatbelt and the suspect noise, I think a squib has gone off in the accident seatbelt tensioner. I was driving normally with not even a speed hump or a pothole in sight. It's going to the garage on Monday for investigation but I now don't have a restraining seatbelt with the likelihood that I won't have one for another week. Any opinions?
