What is causing clutch judder on my 2004 Audi A4?
My 2004 Audi A4 Avant Multitronic automatic diesel, 80,000 miles, has recently started to shudder quite badly when moving off in the first couple of gears on automatic, and this also happens quite badly when reversing up my drive. The gearbox oil has been changed. I use the car equally for local use and longer distances (200 miles plus) with an average annual mileage of approximately 10,000. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The multiplate clutch may be starting to fail. This is very common on Multitronics. It may be possible to replace the 6-plate clutch with a better, longer lasting 7-plate clutch on the same shaft. Talk to a member of www.fedauto.co.uk
