Will the larger 3.0-litre BMW X3 be more thirsty than the 2.0-litre?

I watched your video on the BMW F25 X3. At the time of making the video the more powerful 3.0-litre engine was not available. Do you have any comments on this more powerful engine? The salesman at BMW said he did not think that the bigger engine would drink much more fuel.

Of course the 3.0-litre will drink more fuel than the 2.0-litre. I'm currently getting a genuine 65mpg out of the 2.0-litre BMW diesel in an F30 320d (the dash meter says 70mpg). We got high 40s from the X3 2.0d, but did drive at up to 130mph on the autobahn. I think, driving normally in the UK, 45-50mpg might be possible, but no more than 35mpg out of the 3.0-litre.
