Why do drivers fail to consider the requirements of HGV drivers?

As an HGV driver I regard the most frustrating drivers as the CLOGS who travel at 50-55mph just below the HGV and LGV/trailer speed limit. We cannot pass in the outside lane so the only hope is for a sufficient gap in the left hand lane to be able to pass without risk, whereupon the CLOG accelerates to match our speed, and the slows down as we approach the back of the vehicle in front. Having, eventually, managed to pass the next time the traffic slows the CLOG will be seen merrily sailing by in the outside lane ready to start the whole frustrating process all over again. They should have their licences taken off them if they cannot follow the rules and show consideration for other drivers.

I fully understand your frustration. I hope to get this published to remind them. Many still have the attitude that HGVs are a 'nuisance' and never stop to think that they might be delivering their food. Your answer is a dashcam. Happily, the government is considering raising the HGV limit on A-roads to 50mph. That will remove a lot of frustration and create no danger. A modern 40-tonne HGV can stop as quickly as most cars.
