Taxing a N Ireland car in England
I bought a 2005 Range Rover Sport two weeks ago, but the car was sold without any road tax. However, as the car was registered with the DVLNI (Northern Ireland) the Post Office did not have any details of the car on its system. I have been told to wait for two to four weeks for the V5C to return from the DVLA. Is there any other way to get tax quicker?

The dealer didn't do you any favours, did he? He could have taxed the car for you. As he he's left you in the lurch there is nothing you can do but wait, keep the car off the road, and make sure it's insured (it has to be insured even if it's off the road).
