Buying a new Golf Estate - who will carry out the warranty work?

Following your advice, I am trying to negotiate a great price for a new Volkswagen Golf Estate. My local dealer wants £19,115, including trade in, while another dealer (which is much further away) is asking for £18,750 for the same spec. Will my local dealer be happy to carry out any warranty work if I buy the car from another franchise?

Yes. but less willingly than if you had bought the car from them. It can pay you to support your local dealer. if you already have a decent relationship with them, then good to keep it up. But they should give way a little bit too. Tell them you want to buy the car from them and see if they'll split the difference in price.
