Can report a seller for clocking?

A few weeks ago I sold a car, but the buyer discovered it had been clocked. I have proven it was done before my time with proof of purchase and resolved the issue with a partial refund. Can I report the previous owner for this, as I’ve lost £1500 on the car.

If you bought the car from a trader, then of course report the matter to Trading Standards and to the police. If it was a private vendor then all you can do is sue him for breach of contract via www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
