Can you recommend an economical used car?

looking for an economical (in every way) second hand car for school runs, with a budget of £4000. What would you recommend?

Citroen C1 or Peugeot 107 5-door or a FIAT Panda or a KIA Picanto. Actually you might find a Hyundai i10 1.2 for £4k. One at auction yesterday sold for £3900, and a Suzuki Alto sold for £3000, but not as good value as the i10: www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/auctions/2013-10/today%E.../
