Ford Mondeo - should I sell it or run it into the ground?
I have a 2007 Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCI Titanium X estate. It was my company lease car, which I bought a year ago on leaving the firm for £2500. It has 114,000 miles on the clock, but the engine has been smoky from new and is getting worse under acceleration. I know the engine is an old design but it runs well and returns 50+ mpg and has the benefit of no DPF.
Before buying it had a new dual mass flywheel/clutch and exhaust. I’ve had the brakes discs and pads replaced and the tyres are pretty good. I’ve looked up an on-line valuation - £4145 - and I’m wondering if I should sell it and buy something else? I have £3000 to add to the sell on value.

I'd put the value at more like £2500 - £2750; so you have less to play with. If it doesn't have a DPF and if the DMF has been replaced fairly recently than that's two big jobs you don't have to worry about. Only the cambelt, the turbo and the EGR. These engines may not be very nice but properly looked after they can do 200,000+.
