Extended warranty won't pay for gearbox failure - what can I do?
I bought a 2007 Toyota Auris last year from an approved dealer, with extended warranty. I’ve recently had some mechanical issues with the car and have been told by the Toyota dealer that it needs a new gearbox.
To cut a long story short, the dealer has told me that the warranty will not cover the repairs because the fault is due to advanced wear to 1st and 2nd gear. I have sent a letter to complain, but had no reply. What else can I do?

I don't understand why this was not covered by the Toyota warranty. I don't think it was an official Toyota warranty. I would get three competitive quotes for repairing/replacing the damaged transmission then sue whoever sold you this warranty via www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
