What's the best small car for under £8000?
My Chevrolet Matiz is on its last legs, but I don’t know what to replace it with. I have around £8000 to spend and want a reliable and economical car. Would it be better to get a petrol or a diesel? I will do about 11,000 miles a year and need four doors and enough boot space to get a pushchair in. Any ideas?

There is enough space in the boot of a 500 for a sensibly sized pushchair. You could buy a new Dacia Sandero 1.2TCe Ambiance, or a Dacia Logan MCV.
Or you could buy a used Suzuki Splash or Vauxhall Agila. Or the cute looking and sweet driving Mazda 2 1.3 TS2.

Surprisingly spacious small five-door city car. Makes best sense with 1.0 petrol engine. Much better than old Agila. Rebadged version of Suzuki Splash.

Unbelievably cheap for this size of car, generous interior space and a big boot, reasonably comfortable to drive.
