Audi A4 needs engine rebuild, but dealer will only cover part of the cost – is this fair?
I’ve been having a lot of problems with my 2008 Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TSFI Quattro. I’ve owned the car from new and recently spent £650 replacing the clutch master cylinder. However, now the car has started using a lot of oil and my local dealer has told me the engine needs a total rebuild.
They total cost is £3500, but as a gesture of goodwill Audi will cover parts reducing the bill to £2200. Is this offer reasonable or should I press for more?

Yes, the offer is reasonable because you have already had more than five years out of the car. It seems to be a common problem with this engine.
