How can I prevent my tyres from being damaged by UV light?

I have had to replace the tyres on my last two cars because of cracks caused by UV light, and not because of wear. Is there any way I can prevent this in future?

Yes, cover the tyres as they do when leaving vehicles parked in more permanently hotter countries.
