Why Can't I Buy a New Mondeo?
I am replacing my written of 9-3 Saab SportWagon with a brand new Mazda 6 tourer, 2.0 (145 PS) petrol engine SE-L, metallic paint, mats and boot liner, cash price £19150 on the road. A great deal from a super dealer, to be collected by me on 1st Sept for a 63 plate. (Petrol engine, as I only do 10-12k miles a year.)
I was appalled at my local Ford Dealer, who couldn't be bothered to even pretend to try and find a Mondeo Estate 1.6 EcoBoost or even anything remotely similar for me to test drive (new or used). They must be doing very well for business as they weren't interested in me.
What's the best way to keep the car looking good? What polishes/waxes should I use and how often?
And I usually fill up with Sainsbury's petrol. Any problem with that, and is there any advantage in using a different brand and/or paying more?

The reason for this is coming out of the woodwork. Another reader was quoted a 6 - 8 month delivery for a new Mondeo and experienced similar treatment from a Ford dealer. Ford is closing down its Gent factory and moving production of S-Max, Galaxy and Mondeo to Valencia. A new S-Max will be announced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The new Mondeo was announced last year. I suspect that production of the Mk IV Mondeo is pretty much at a standstill and the next Mondeos will be the new Mk Vs from Valencia.
