Volkswagen Golf making knocking noise
My 1998 Volkswagen Golf (Mk4) has been making a loud knocking noise. I have replaced everything on the front suspension imaginable, but the noise persists. The noise starts on the front left suspension, but goes away if the car has been stationary for more than an hour.
Is this an issue with a shocker or maybe a bush or mount that contracts with the cold or heat?

The turbo on the exhaust system will get very hot, so maybe a heat shield between it and the suspension components has dropped off.
