What tyres should I fit to my Volvo XC90?

I need a good set of tyres for my 2010 Volvo XC90. The original set lasted 30,000-miles, but my second set of Pirellis only lasted 18,000-miles.

I do a little off road driving, mainly on fields to park at horse events. I also use the car for longer journeys and more difficult rural roads/tracks. What tyres would give me better mileage?

Maybe a change from Pirelli Scorpion STRs to Pirelli Scorpion ATRs. ATRs will give better traction off road, but will wear faster.
