How do I get the most from a part exchange?

The time has come to replace my lovely Ford Cougar. We have identified a nice 2010 Toyota Prius at a main dealer, but they won't give me much for my Ford. Are there any other ways to get more for the Cougar?

A Prius certainly does not drive like a Cougar V6. I agree, they were lovely cars. If you Google 'Ford Cougar Club' you'll get links to forums and help sites which are probably your best disposal route.
