Replacing a used Octavia - good idea?
I’m thinking of replacing my 2003 Skoda Octavia Elegance hatchback 1.9 TDi. The car is great and tows a 1140Kg caravan with no problem, but I want to replace it with something that’s just three or four years old. Is there something a little smaller I should consider before I seriously look at a 2009 plate Octavia.

Better to stick to the car you have with the reliable 1.9TDI engine and no diesel particulate filter. If you do upgrade, go for a Hyunidai i30 or KIA cee'd 1.6CRDI up to the end of 2009 to be reasonably sure of getting one without a DPF.
