BMW with limp home mode fault
My friend has a 2008 BMW 5 Series 520D automatic, which he has owned since new. It has always been serviced on time by the local BMW dealer, but has recently developed an intermittent fault where it suddenly switches into limp home mode.
This can be rectified by stopping, switching off and back on again. BMW have said that there is a gearbox fault and a new ‘box is required at a cost of £5000, which is more than the car is worth. Could it be something as simple as a throttle sensor fault?

I think it's a throttle sensor fault. Get it to a member of www.fedauto.co.uk
