SEAT Ibiza SC - warped brakes after just 3000 miles
We bought a new Seat Ibiza SC for our daughter from the local Seat dealer last August. Now eight months on - and just 3000 miles – we've encountered problems in the form of warped brake discs. The dealer has kindly replaced the problem parts and arranged for Seat to cover the costs, but can you offer any feedback on the disc brake problem encountered? Could driving style or the low mileage have an impact on warping the discs?

Brake discs are most likely to warp if you sit on the brakes after a long descent involving braking. That will have heated up the discs considerably and if you sit with the pads clamped to the discs at the bottom of the hill, the area not clamped will cool at a faster rate and will warp the discs.
