Issues with my Mondeo turbo when towing?

When I tow my caravan and the engine is hot if I slow down then put my foot back on the accelerator it feels like "turbo lag" before the engine responds. Any ideas? It's only like this when hot.

The turbo is red hot from the labouring engine. It isn't water cooled. I would have the turbo oil feed pipe replaced because I think it is coked up and not feeding enough oil to the turbo bearing. Never ever switch the engine off as soon as you stop after towing. Always let it idle for two minutes while the turbo spools down so it is cooled by fresh engine oil being pumped through the bearing.
