Can I change the profile of my tyres?
I intend to have all four tyres of my partner's Mk 1 Ford Focus replaced before we go on a long tour. At present they are 205/50/16 but I am finding a far better range of tyres (and prices) available in 55 profile.
Also, when I do a tyre size search by inputting the car registration number it actually comes up as 205/55/16.
Aside from a slight difference in speedo readings (3.5% I gather) are there any issues with opting for the slightly higher profile? The car has a space saver spare - is this a problem?

Some Focus are on 215/55 R16s. I'd go for the 205/55 R16s. Won't make much difference apart from to make the speedo more accurate, so 30mph will now mean 30 and you might not get away with 33.
