Long Warranty

I was surprised when I read your reply to letters stating Honda guaranteed their new 1.6 diesel engine for 1000000 kms or 10yrs in France and Spain. They must be very sure of this engine but why no such guarantee in the UK?

Does this guarantee in France and Spain include the DMF, EGR valve and DPF?

Does this engine warm enough on a 5 mile journey to regenerate the dpf?

It was a sales incentive combined with a service package and warranty for 10 years or 1,000,000 kilometres, whichever came first. The offer ended at the end of March, but obviously the liability doesn't. The engine does incorporate fast warm up technology, like the Renault 1.6 DCI 130 and Mazda's Skyactiv engines. I have never received any reports of DPF trouble with any of these, apart from a dipstick calibration error in Australia.
