My brother died recently and my sister-in-law has been left to sell his car. She will have to sell it privately. However, this places her in a very vulnerable position as, being on her own, she's naturally reluctant to have complete strangers turn up at the house and is aware too of the scams around by which you could end up with no money and no car.

I was wondering if you might be able to suggest a reliable outlet who she could contact and deal with confidence and also some idea what you would consider a fair price. The car is a 2009 Volvo XC60 SE D5 AWD automatic 2.4-litre in bronze with cream leather interior. It has just over 15,000 miles on the clock and is fitted with all sorts of gizmos. I would be most grateful for any advice you could offer.
