Where can we get economical new tyres for our BMW 1 Series?
Our local BMW garage stated that within 500 miles we will need replacement tyres at the front and quoted a substantial figure. Is there a reliable alternative tyre retailer who is cheaper? To give us a more comfortable ride, what tyres for a BMW 1 Series would you recommend? Also is it possible to replace only the two front tyres or would a complete set be advisable? If the front tyres are becoming worn, why not swap them round?

You won’t get a more comfortable ride unless you swap to smaller wheels so deeper profile tyres can be fitted, or you (unwisely) abandon runflat tyres. There's no need to replace all four. The best tyres should go on the back. Try www.event-tyres.co.uk.
