Was my accident caused by a transmission fault?

I have a 2011 Skoda Fabia Elegance 1.2TSI 105 7-speed DSG automatic, which is an excellent short journey runabout but it takes its time moving off from cold or within the warming-up period, and also an abrupt turn left or right causes the engine to stall. I think that, as the power steering is electric, it could load the alternator to such an extent as to slow or stall the engine. I also struggle with the automatic gearbox lag. I spoke to the dealer who suggested waiting until the next service.

I have now had an accident resulting in damage of £1000 and which is presumed to be my fault. When I took the car for an estimate I was told it should have been returned for a modification or adjustment to the engine turbo unit. Have you heard anything about this? And, if so to what extent would this contribute to my trouble.

I think you are right about the alternator. But the hesitation exiting side roads and entering roundabout is the bugbear of the DSG. You don't get that problem with the Ford/Getrag Powershift because it's not required to touch the brake before moving the lever from N to D. The DSG's brake switch is what causes the hesitation. I would complain that the transmission caused the problem. I would complain to VOSA as well and demand a vehicle safety recall.
