Is the new Toyota Yaris better than the previous model?

Will you please comment on the new Toyota Yaris automatic hybrid from the point of view of a Motability lease, its reliability and whether the quoted mpg figures are realistic? I have a Yaris 2009 semi-auto at the moment. I hate its gearbox and the rattles from the dashboard, but otherwise it’s been a good automatic car.

We actually got 80.7mpg out of it whilst driving gently on flat roads in Holland. Realistically, you can expect 60-70mpg. A hybrid is the best answer when many of your journeys will be fairly short. Road test and video: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-yari.../

It’s too new to comment on reliability, but the reliability of other Toyota hybrids is excellent. My father has an Auris hybrid. I concur that the automated manual transmission on the previous Yaris was bad, but the Yaris hybrid has a super smooth CVT.
