Does the Ford Ka have a Fiat engine?
We purchased a new Ford Ka 1.2 Studio from our Ford dealer in February 2010 in a good deal which included scrappage. On collecting the car after its second service - its first by a non-Ford dealer - we were asked: "Do you know there's a Fiat Punto engine in that car?" as if it was unusual. No we didn't know. Could it be true? And, if so, could we have done anything about it? What are the implications, if any, particularly when we come to sell? We're perfectly happy with the car but this has got us worried that we didn't get the deal we thought.

The Ka is built by Fiat in the Fiat Tichy factory in Poland, the same factory that builds the Fiat 500 which is the most fault-free Fiat ever built and, as far as I can tell from personal and reader experience, more reliable than any other current small car. Bit of a mythbuster, really. You have nothing to worry about.
