Thanks for your review of the Alfa Romeo 147 - I bought one.

I've read your review of the 147. I had a 156 and gave you feedback for that, which you incorporated. I bought one of the last 147s imported, new from a dealer at the end of last year. I've done 1500 miles in it, and I have to say build quality is really good for a car of its price, there are no rattles anywhere, and all the electrics work, and I haven't had a single issue with it. I guess the first generation 147 had its problems but my car is just fab. Not all 147s "have a witches' brew" of problems and it might be fairer to say some cars can be really good, others not. The TS 1.6 engine is so smooth once run in, but not that economical 32mpg. The 1.6 petrol version is also quite low geared.
