Can I remove the DPF from my Renault Laguna?
I have been having problems with the DPF on a Renault Laguna diesel. I have had it regenerated twice and now someone has suggested having it taken out. I have looked on the internet and found numerous firms that carry out this procedure but I would like advice before taking the step myself. Do you know of anyone who can do this, and also does it affect the emissions test in the MOT?

I think it will fail the EC Directive and the new MoT introduced 1 January 2012 that requires any catalytic converter or other emission reduction equipment that was part of the car's original equipment to remain in place. A DPF is part soot burner, part cat converter.
