Penalised for overstaying in a car park by 35 minutes - can I appeal?
I received an early present on Christmas Eve, a £60 penalty for overstaying by 35 minutes on the pay and display at Waterhead car park in Ambleside recently. I hadn't even realised I had taken longer than expected and had paid for two hours anyway. I was delayed getting back to the car after a trip with a friend who went off onto a green lane and took longer than expected. It would have been £5 for four hours and I didn't expect to be that long. It seems a bit steep. Do you think I have any argument/appeal?

It's probably a legitimate contractual penalty. But if you feel it isn't, you can register your complaint at: www.britishparking.co.uk/AOS-Enquiries
