Where can I get a car suitable for carrying large dogs?

I need to buy an economical petrol-engined budget car to transport my dogs. I shall have up to £5000 to spend plus a 12-year-old 2.0-litre Vauxhall Vectra Estate to part-exchange. This car will do only short but frequent drives. One dog is a greyhound, so height is important. My first thought is a Citroen Berlingo 1.4 but anything similar would be perfect. I would love to hear your ideas.

One good idea is to go along to a police auction and buy an ex-police dog van, which will usually be a Focus or Mondeo estate converted with a vent on top to carry Alsatians. The best is West Oxfordshire Motor Auctions: www.woma.co.uk/
