Does the new Scenic have a better engine?

I have a 2009 Renault Scenic 1.5 dCi Privilege 106 with 36,000 miles on the clock and I wish to replace it with something similar. I have reservations about a straight replacement as I feel the engine is underpowered, but I would like to buy another Scenic as I find the comfort of the cabin and its ease of access important. Although I currently run a diesel, my annual mileage is now less than it was and is likely to be around 10,000 a year with some short trips. Have you any advice on the model for which I should opt, if staying with Renault?

The new, chain cam 1.6DCI 130 is a vastly superior engine for the Scenic. Its fast-warm technology should mean no problems with the DPF or EGR.
