What should I replace my Renault Scenic with?

I am thinking of changing my Renault Scenic 2004 and wonder what you might recommend? I like the high seating position but I don't like the electric handbrake, and I would like an automatic gearbox. Is there a good six-speed automatic on the market that is not too expensive? I am not looking for a big car but a five-door and a flat opening to the hatchback would be preferable.

I recommend the Toyota Verso 1.8i Valvematic Multidrive S CVT auto. Road test and video here: honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-verso-2009-road-test//
