Which petrol car to replace our Audi A3 Sportback?

We have a six-year-old Audi A3 TDI 1.9 Sportback but it's time for a change. A vehicle of similar size, 5-door, with a petrol engine and also the ability to accelerate and manoeuvre in a similar manner to the TDI would be nice. What would you recommend please?

Or wait for the new floorpan to feed down into the Skoda Rapid, SEAT Toledo and Volkswagen Golf VII.
