Who can fix an air conditioning fault on our 2003 Honda Civic?

The air-conditioning of my wife's 2003 Honda Civic 1.6 VTEC auto packed up recently and I have been quoted a figure of £391 to fix it by our Honda dealer. Apparently there is a coolant leak and the condenser needs replacing. I would be grateful if you know of any one else who would be worth approaching as the car is now quite old but in other respects is in excellent working order.

That’s not a crazy quote if the condenser does, in fact need replacing. You could try some of the links here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/air-conditioning/

Unfortunately, cars don't get cheaper to repair as they become older and lose their value. That's why so many get scrapped at just 7-10 years old.
