Can I change my Skoda Octavia's tyres for better ride comfort?
My 2011 Skoda Octavia 1.8 TSI Elegance is great in all respects apart from one. The ride is painfully hard so I would like to change the tyres which are Bridgestone Turanza ER300 205/55 R16 91Vs. Do you think I would get a significant improvement in ride quality with different tyres and, if so, what do you recommend?

My Mazda 5 has that size of tyre but the tyres are Toyo J48s and the suspension is very flexible, giving the car excellent ride quality. I guess you could change to 15-inch wheels and go to 195/65 R15 tyres, but you would need to inform your insurer and the gain might not be all that great.
