How should I respond to an insurance claim scam?
I have heard from my insurers that CAA Claimsline claim that my car was involved in an incident: “You have hit their client's vehicle” and “do you accept fault?”.
No such incident or accident occurred, though no details are given other than the date. I have called CAA Claimsline and they are unable to give any details. What should I do?

Report this to the police and get a crime number. Basically, someone is attempting to steal from you by defrauding you of your no-claims discount by making a spurious claim. It is not a 'civil matter'. It is an attempted crime (though the CPS will not prosecute most crimes of this nature). Absolutely insist that your insurer pursues this too. Demand to know the name and address of the person making the claim and sue him for your loss using the Small Claims Track of the County Court.
