BMW Approved Used scheme - has my car been serviced properly?
I purchased an approved used BMW (2006 330i Touring M Sport) from a BMW dealer in August 2012 which I have two questions about;
1/ It has come to light after 8500 motorway (very sensibly driven) miles that I need two new front tyres (both run flats) as the outer edge of the offside has already worn down to the metal, as has the inner edge of the near side, leaving me with a bill of nearly £500 after 7 months of ownership. BMW tell me they sell their cars with a minimum of 3mm tread, which both tyres have in all other areas other than those mentioned. Do I have a right to a claim/contribution here?
2/ When my tyre issue came to light, I checked the cars paperwork again and realised that it had gone for considerable periods of time without various serving bits being done. I know that the car is done on condition based servicing, but I was also under the impression that some of the below items should have been done more regularly (I.e every two years if a certain amount of mileage is not covered). The service history (which is 'full BMW') shows that:
-The car went for over 4 years without a brake fluid and oil change (24,000 miles).
- It has only had two services of any nature at all, one at 8,000 miles when the car was nearly two years old and another at 32,000 miles when the car was 6 years old (the micro-filter was also changed after 3 years of use).
The car is meant to come with a full BMW service history, but I think it's either been serviced in between by a non BMW garage, or gone too long in between services.
Is that correct?
When I purchased the car I raised a number of things with the dealer such as the coolant level being far too low, the MOT not being twelve months as it should (I was given a voucher for the next MOT) but I still have to make a 70 mile round trip to get it done where I purchased the car), and there being white marks all over the leather that I had to make a return journey to have taken out (that took a day of my time).
I'm starting to think that I've not really got a car of the expected BMW standard (I've owned a few BMW Approved Used cars).

1/ You have done 8,500 miles on a used set of tyres fitted to a used car. That's reasonable.
2/ Quite right. These service contracts do not provide for what I regard as adequate servicing. The brake fluid could have been okay to 4 years if tested for contamination and moisture content. No oil is up to 4 years in an engine.
