Golf Estate or Hatchback?

Cannot make up our minds if to buy Volkswagen Golf Hatchabck and put on a roof rack and box for holidays and camping, or go straight for Golf Estate.

Is the estate more expensive to run and what engine would you recommend with fairly low mileage - around 10,000 each year? Thought 1.4TSI would be best? Or is it more economical to go with diesel?

We don't know yet. Was only just announced last week. Probably need the 1.4TSI 122 rather than the 1.2 TSI 105 that the hatchback is very happy with. Don't go diesel for 10k miles a year. 1.6TDI unreliable used in that way.
