Starting issues with my Nissan X-Trail?
Last night, my X Trail wouldn't start at all. I turned the key and all I got was a 'click', nothing from the engine at all. The lights on the dahsboard all lit up but the engine was dead. I tried a couple more times with no result then suddenly the car started as normal. I drove for a bit, pulled over and stopped the car. I left it for 5 minutes, turned on the ignition and the same thing happened. I drove home and parked up outside my house as normal.
When I went out this morning, the car is now completely dead. I'm still getting the 'click' and the dashboard lights come on but again, the engine is totally dead. After trying it on and off for 30 minutes without any success, I left it and went to work.
Any ideas what the problem might be?

Reads like a few teeth chipped off the starter ring on the flywheel.
