Sensible, small all-wheel drive car?

I want to buy a 4WD vehicle but NOT one of the awful expensive, monster vehicles like a Land Cruiser, Range Rover etc An estate style vehicle is what I am looking for that is sensibly priced.

Any suggestions please?
