Replacing my 2004 A6?

I currently drive an Audi A6 Saloon 2.0 TDI 54 reg (December). Would like either an Audi A6 Avant or an Jaguar XF. My main priorities are quality of ride and economy. From September I will be travelling 50 miles a day and would appreciate your advise on what model and year?

I can afford £20,000 plus what I can part exchange for the Audi.

For ride quality the Jag has to be on 17" wheels and the Audi has to be on 16" wheels. These give more tyre between the rims and the road. But generally the Jag rides better than the Audi. 50 miles a day justifies an XF 3.0V6 diesel. Surprisingly economical. 40mpg +.
