Replacing a small MPV
Our November 2010 Meriva 1.7 CDTI Auto (100ps) is an excellent car in many respects (particularly the high gearing), but the diesel is not suited to the many shortish journeys we tend to do. The Meriva is now available as an automatic with a 1.4 120ps engine. I am a little worried that, although more powerful, the power is not available low down the rev range and it might be a 'high revver' at normal motorway speeds. I can't find one to test drive. Do you have any information/ views, etc?

I've only ever driven the 1.4 140 Turbo. But if the 120 is also a turbo it should have no problems with the autobox. Very sweet at low revs. Far nicer than a diesel.
